About Nadine

Nadine’s gifts as a singer, and writer of prose at the age of five were recognized by many while growing up in Brooklyn, New York. Daughter of an electrical engineer (also a minister), and a teacher, she attended Brooklyn’s Lambert Chapel Holy Church at an early age, where the teachings of Jesus Christ were birthed into her. She would later discover that these teachings would shield her from danger in the tumultuous and confusing life she led as a drug user; from heroin in one decade, followed by her use of cocaine in the next.

Nadine performed as one of the most sought after vocalists in the party and wedding circuit, working in the finest country clubs and catering halls in all of New York. And though she was drawn into a lifestyle that nearly destroyed her, Nadine vehemently acknowledges that the hand of God never left her. The many opportunities that the world had to envelope her and shape her into something that could have completely destroyed her, did not work. She adamantly proclaims that if it had not been for God’s mercy, she would have been a victim of a horrible circumstance.
“It was six years ago when God spoke to me so clearly about writing. But I lived an unhealthy lifestyle; I wasn’t ready to feel the pain. I spent two decades entertaining, trying to bring healing to others through the music I sang, not realizing I was the one who needed to be healed. I didn’t know who I was or what I wanted. I covered it up very well; always conscious of my appearance, but hooked just the same. Understandably, I realized why no one could help. No one knew. But in all my mess, God knew. He was with me all the time.”
In this, her first book, Nadine tells of the trials she endured as a single parent, while trying to build a relationship with her teen daughter after leaving a life of drugs. She tells about this tumultuous relationship during a time when her praise, worship and trust in God were stolen by the enemy, all while living a Christian lifestyle. However, under the teachings of her Pastor and Overseer, Hezekiah Walker, not only did she learn the foundation of prayer, praise and worship, but when and how to use these weapons to deliver her out of darkness, and take her to the next level designed by God.
Nadine earned her B.A. in Journalism at Long Island University’s Brooklyn campus, where she also studied music. She taught English, journalism and music in the public school system, as well as voice in the private spectrum. She is a believer in Jesus Christ, and has been a member for the past 12 years at Love Fellowship Tabernacle in Brooklyn, NY, where Bishop Hezekiah Walker is senior pastor. At LFT, she is director of the addiction ministry, and a member of the choir.
Along with writing, Nadine continues to sing and act. She currently resides in New Jersey, where she lives with her daughter, a college graduate. Nadine is a single mom who enjoys speaking with and encouraging other single parents who are faced with everyday challenges that are attached to this difficult, yet rewarding, role of single parenthood.
